Teens charged following Allagash camp burglaries

ALLAGASH, Maine — Police charged two teens in connection with several break-ins at camps located in Allagash.

Deputy Nathan Chisholm of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office investigated a complaint of a burglary at a camp on Walker Brook Road in Allagash on Jan. 28.

“It was determined that the suspects entered the camp by breaking exterior windows,” Sheriff Shawn Gillen said. “The suspects also attempted to make entry into an exterior outbuilding but were not successful. Multiple items were stolen from the camp.”

Following leads from that investigation, Chisholm determined that a 16-year-old male from Allagash and a 15-year-old male from St. Francis were involved.

Also during the course of the investigation, Chisholm determined that the same juveniles likely were responsible for a separate camp burglary in Allagash.

Police charged the juveniles with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

The teens will appear on Monday, May 4, at Fort Kent District Court.
