Archambault political cartoons on display at St. John Valley chamber

MADAWASKA, Maine — The St. John Valley Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is featuring a display of Peter Archambault’s political cartoons and works.  

Archambault (1939-2015), a native of Madawaska, was known for his Beau-Frog illustrations and political cartoons based on the Franco-American experience.  His work was highlighted in the F.A.R.O.G. Forum publication of the Franco-American Centre at the University of Maine in Orono. 

His artwork, previously on display at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, is currently on display at the chamber at 356 Main St. in Madawaska.  All are welcome to stop in to see the collection anytime from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.  

Archambault’s collection will be on display until Feb. 29.
