Friends of St. Francis hosts annual Children’s Christmas Party

ST. FRANCIS, Maine — Anyone who doubts Santa is real has clearly never attended a Friends of St. Francis Christmas party. The jolly North Pole dweller made a pre-Christmas Eve visit to northern Maine on Saturday, Dec. 7, at the St. Francis Community Center.

Martin Taggett and Bobbi Lee Martin of St. Francis brought their children, Jemma, 7, and Jackson, 4, to the party for the third consecutive year. The children’s grandparents also joined in the family fun.

“We bring our kids to the party to feel the magic of Santa coming to town and see all the happy children,” Bobbi Lee Martin said. “Jackson thought Santa was ‘cool’ because he rode in on snowmobile, and Jemma said she loved the Christmas ornament activity.”

Children enjoyed storytime, played games, created Christmas-themed crafts and munched on holiday snacks with their friends, all free of charge. And of course, Santa and his wife visited with the children and handed out presents.
