Laurie Gagnon and David Morin win Board of Selectmen posts

MADAWASKA, Maine — Laurie Gagnon and David Morin pull out victorious as the new members of the Board of Selectmen at the conclusion of the November special elections Tuesday night. 

David Morin ran unopposed for the one-year vacancy left by former board member Brenda Theriault. He received 261 votes. There were 35 total write-ins, however only 11 got more than one vote. Brenda Theriault was listed as a write-in with three votes.

Laurie Gagnon won against Bryan Albert 273-108 for the two-year term left vacant by Danielle Campbell. There were only three write-ins and none of them had more than one vote each. 

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve and I’ll work hard not to let anyone down,” Gagnon said. “I like to believe that I’m approachable so I hope that if people have concerns or ideas that they reach out to me. I think Bryan would have done a great job and I hope he runs again in the future.“
