Students receive warm welcome to campuses

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — For the 19th year, employees and volunteers of the City of Edmundston welcomed full-time and part-time students attending the University of Moncton, Edmundston campus (UMCE) and the Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick – Edmundston campus with festivities and a traditional meal.

 

The activity, which began in 2001, was held Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the cafeteria of the student center Édupôle. People could take a typical meal of the region, including chicken stew and ployes. Door prizes were drawn and awarded to students of the two institutions.

Prize winners included Alexandre Plourde of  Edmundston, paralegal student at NBCC, who won a tablet; Katty Bouchard of Edmundston, office management student at NBCC, who won a $100 Édupôle gift certificate; and Michael Aucoin of Edmundston, health sciences student at UMCE, winner of a $100 Édupôle gift certificate.
