Fort Kent girls remain undefeated, boys advance after defeating Houlton

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Community High School defending Class C state championship girls soccer team remained undefeated on the season following a 3-1 win over Houlton on Friday, Sept. 27, in Fort Kent. 

The Warrior girls advanced to 6-0-1 with the win over Houlton, having tied with Caribou on Sept. 17 in a scoreless game. The Shiretowners moved to 6-1 with the loss against Fort Kent. 

Gabby Martin, Desirae Hafford, and Nancy Martin each scored an unassisted goal for Fort Kent on Friday.

Breanne Barton scored the only goal for Houlton. 

Goalkeeper Lyndsay Ouellette defended the Warriors with 11 saves on 12 shots.

Houlton’s Abbie Worthley saved 11 of 14 Fort Kent shots.  

The Warrior boys also defeated Houlton in Fort Kent on Friday by a score of 3-0. 

Noah Martin, Colby Theriault and Keegan Cyr each registered a goal and Martin had an assist. The Fort Kent boys moved to 4-3 on the season with the win. The Houlton boys dropped to 2-4-1.
