Upper SJV ladies golf completes fifth meet

ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The Upper St. John Valley Senior Ladies Golf Association met at the VaJoWa Golf Course on Wednesday, Aug. 21, for its fifth meet of the year. 

A total of 52 golfers enjoyed another warm day on the course. The match ended the 2019 season, in which the association completed all five events without rain. Organizers hope next year will go as well 

Results from the meet are as follows.

Division D — First gross went to Carol Blood (VaJoWa) with 108; second gross, Jennifer Metzger (VaJoWa), 16; and third gross, Ginny Benner (Caribou Country Club), 121. First net went to Marilya Ellis (Houlton Community Golf Course) with 84; second net, Barb Boone (Aroostook Valley Country Club), 85; and third net, Brenda Carmen (HCGC), 85.

Division C — First gross went to Deb Porter (VaJoWa) with 106; second gross, Terry Pettengill (VaJoWa) 108; and third gross, Margie Anderson (CBGC), 110. First Net went to Brenda Clark (CBGC) with 78; second net, Sheila Nemer (Portage Hills Country Club), 79; and third net, Ellen Williams (VaJoWa), 80. 

Division B — First gross went to Kathy Maynard (Presque Isle Country Club) with 98; second gross, Judy Doustou (Fort Kent Country Club), 99; and third gross, Peggy Larabee (AVCC), 100. First net went to Rose Bustard (CBGC) with 74; second net, Diane Libby (Mars Hill Country Club), 76; and third net, Mary Hansen (CCC), 77.     

Division A — First gross went to Lupita Albert (FKCC) with 89; second gross, April James (AVCC), 92; and Rita Levesque (Grand Falls Country Club), 97. First net went to Becky Kelley (VaJoWa) with 77; second net, Kathy Levesque (PHCC), 79; and third net, Lucy McLaughlin (GFCC), 79.
