Allagash resident dies in ATV crash, daughter survives
ALLAGASH, Maine — Maine Game Wardens investigated an ATV crash on Friday, Aug. 9, that killed an Allagash man but left his daughter unharmed.
According to Mark Latti of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, Bonny Hafford of Allagash, 65, was attempting to drive an ATV up an embankment in a gravel pit near 352 Dickey Road, Allagash, around 12:30 p.m. when the vehicle flipped and crushed him.
His daughter was ejected from the ATV but escaped injury, Latti said.
The Maine Warden Service investigated the accident, with assistance from Fort Kent emergency medical services, the Allagash Fire Department and ASI Ambulance.
