Summerfest at Fort Kent Outdoor Center

FORT KENT, Maine — To help celebrate the town of Fort Kent’s 150th birthday, the Fort Kent Outdoor Center will host its annual BBQ and Band fundraiser on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the 10th Mountain Lodge and Stadium at 33 Paradis Circle. 

An afternoon of activities is planned, with guided mountain bike rides, guided orienteering (a map and navigation activity), Touch-a-Truck, corn hole, paintball biathlon, and the opening of the first nine holes of the brand-new Disc Golf course.

All activities are free and open to the public 2-5 p.m. There will be tethered hot air balloobn rides 5-8 p.m., weather permitting, $5 for children and $10 for adults.

A barbecue meal, catered by Country Farms Market, will be served 5-7 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, and can be purchased early from an FKOC board member, at the door, or online at Local band “Revolver” will perform outside 6-9 p.m. Cash bar and bonfire will be on site. 

FKOC memberships for 2019-2020 will be available for purchase, as well as raffle tickets for the following items: a Stay-and-Play weekend package at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester; an LL Bean snowshoe package; a set of flies from North Woods Fly Company; a Pineland Creamery Gift Set; an FKOC family membership; and various FKOC merchandise. Raffle tickets are $5 for one ticket, or $20 for 5 tickets.
