Madawaska native launches debut book

SACO, Maine — Madawaska native Brenda Pollock has launched her debut book, “High Heels to High Seas,” a memoir that takes readers on her journey of when she left a glossy, corporate lifestyle to live, work and travel full time aboard a 41-foot sailboat.

“I thought it was an important story to tell,” Pollock said in a press statement. “So many people I met along the way would tell me how much they would love to live their dream, but haven’t. I hope this book will inspire them to find the courage to do so.”

Pollock, a financial counselor with a Portland credit union, is a former chamber of commerce director. Her career led her to Montreal, Quebec, where she worked in the private aviation industry before returning to Maine in 2017.

“High Heels to High Seas” is her first published work. Visit amazon.com for availability. She and her husband reside in Saco.
