Edmundston plans first craft beer festival this fall

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — The inaugural craft beer festival will be held in the heart of downtown Edmundston on September 21, under a big marquee in the parking lot of the Brasseurs du Petit-Sault microbrewery.

A group of volunteers dedicated to good beer and good music, in collaboration with Les Brasseurs du Petit-Sault, have been working since January to organize the new Funk & Bier festival, which will be a fantastic addition to Edmundston’s calendar of autumn activities.

The festival will take place between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. with funk music during the day, and will culminate with a highly entertaining show open to the general public presented by the fabulous group Les Païens. Already 10 microbreweries in New Brunswick have confirmed their presence and will each introduce three or four different beers.

Four categories of tickets are available online through the box office. Note that only 100 VIP tickets and only 200 regular tickets are available. VIP ticket holders will have access to the site an hour earlier to to take advantage of a more intimate access to the brewers. They will also receive a 14-ounce tasting glass and will have access to the big show in the evening. Regular ticket holders will be able to access the site by 4 p.m. They will receive a 4-ounce tasting glass and will have access to the great Les Païens show.

Special-priced tickets will be available for designated drivers and for people who only wish to attend the show and beer garden in the evening.
