Ambulance, oil truck entangled in accident

MADAWASKA, Maine — An ambulance and oil delivery truck got entangled in an accident Wednesday morning on 3rd Avenue in Madawaska, but no one was injured, according to Madawaska police.

The Dead River oil truck was traveling north on 3rd. Avenue when the ambulance from Ambulance Service Inc. out of Fort Kent made a right hand turn from Main St. and fishtailed. The two vehicles made contact and somehow got hooked together, according to police.

After a tow truck called to the scene helped separate the two rigs, officers Matt Derosier and Cedric Gendreau determined that there was no reportable damage to either vehicle.

There was one patient in the ambulance, but no one suffered any injuries as a result of the accident, the officers reported. Once the vehicle was free and cleared, the ambulance personnel continued with their transfer of the patient from Northern Maine Medical Center to the Ridgewood Estates retirement facility.
