Warrior girls edge out Washburn, boys come up short against CAHS

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Community High School Warrior girls basketball team edged out Washburn by a basket on Saturday, Jan. 5, to win 35-33 at home.

Desirae Hafford led the charge for the Warriors with 15 points. Hannah Daigle chipped in another 7, followed by Madison Saucier with 6.

Kassie Farley scored the majority of points for Washburn with 26. Kylie Farley added another 3, and Trinity Saucier-Pellicer pitched in 2.

Both the Warrior girls and the Beavers moved to 4-4 on the season.

The Warrior boys (3-3) came up short in a thriller at home on Friday, Jan. 4, falling to Central Aroostook High School by a single point, 59-58.

Camden Jandreau was the top shooter for the Warriors with 20 points, including three baskets from 3 point territory. Caleb Delisle added 14 more points followed by Eden Paradis with 13.

The Panthers advanced to 6-1 on the season with the win.

Both Warrior teams will take on Wisdom High School in Fort Kent on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
