Website wants foliage shots

Maine’s leaf-bearing trees are showing off their dazzling colors of yellow, orange and red.

According to the fourth Fall Foliage Report from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, issued Oct. 3, foliage conditions are at peak in northern Maine. The rest of the state is seeing 50 to 70 percent color change with low leaf drop (less than 30 percent).

The department’s foliage website,, is inviting leaf peepers to share their photos at, Facebook or on Instagram (@mainefoliage) and use the hashtag #mainefoliage.
