Huge turnout for seniors tournament

CARIBOU, Maine — A full field of 144 golfers participated in the fifth Upper St. John Valley Seniors men’s tournament, held at Caribou Country Club, Aug. 8.

The top three gross and net scorers from each of the six divisions are as follows:

Division A: first gross, Warren Walker, Va Jo Wa, 73; first net, Mike Weston, Hartland, 67; second gross, Jeff Jose, Caribou, 73; second net, Clay Halliday, Va Jo Wa, 68; third gross, Dominic Ouellet, Edmundston, 76; and third net, Gary Dukeshire, Woodstock, 72.

Division B: first gross, Marc Long, Edmundston, 75; first net, Don Michaud, Long Lake, 70; second gross, Greg  Cyr, Fort Kent, 80; second net, Everette Parker, Hartland, 71; third gross, Sean Dolamont, Houlton, 80; and third net, Mike Pelletier, Edmundston, 71.

Division C: first gross, Guy Cyr, Long Lake, 78; first net, Paul Breau, Edmundston, 68; second gross, Rob Kieffer, Caribou, 80; second net, James Michael, Portage, 69; third gross, Greg Dickinson, Caribou, 83; and third net, Bob Roy, Caribou, 71.

Division D: first gross, Norm Collins, Caribou, 84; first net, Jeff Poirier, Portage, 67; second gross, Alton Davenport, Mars Hill, 85; second net, Peter Haskell, Portage, 68; third gross, Lewis Pelkey, Hartland, 85; and third net, Tom Umphrey, Caribou, 69..

Division E: first gross, Jeff Everett, Caribou, 83; first net, Jacques Marquis, Fort Kent, 66; second gross, Jon Langley, Caribou. 86; second net, Don Hanning, Caribou, 71; third gross, Scottie Flannery, Houlton, 91; and third net, Jeff Heron, Caribou, 78.

Division F: first gross, Dan Fournier, Grand Falls, 81; first net, Lynn McNeal, Caribou, 59; second gross, Brent Kelley, Va Jo Wa, 92; second net, Paul Riordon, Woodstock, 65; third gross, Graydon McCrum. Aroostook Valley, 96; and third net, David Peterson, Caribou, 67.

The next tournament will be held at Va Jo Wa Golf Course in Island Falls on Aug. 22.
