Cyr to coach Fort Kent Community High School girls soccer

FORT KENT, Maine — The SAD 27 school board approved Doug Cyr as the next Fort Kent Community High School girls varsity soccer coach in their regular monthly board meeting on Monday, July 2.

Cyr replaces Robby Nadeau, who accepted the Fort Kent Elementary School Principal position earlier this spring.

Cyr, who played soccer for three seasons (1995-97) at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, is the Human Resource Manager for Irving Woodlands LLC and Irving Forest Products Inc.  He has coached primarily at the youth level, working in various capacities for the Fort Kent Recreation Department from 2008-2017.

He will inherit a team that lost six seniors this past season, losing to Central of East Corinth in a Class C North quarterfinal and finishing the year at 7-8-0.

Cyr resides in Fort Kent with his wife, Dawn, and their three children, Dominic, Julia and Morgan.  Morgan will be a freshmen on the team this fall.
