Knights of Columbus to sponsor benefit golf tournament

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — The organizing committee of the St. Louis-Maillet Foundation benefit golf tournament has announced that the Knights of Columbus, Council 1932, became official partners of the upcoming annual classic.

The Knights of Columbus, Council 1932, pledged to contribute the sum of $ 10,000 for the 2018 and 2019 tournaments, a $5,000 commitment for each tournament.

The 24th benefit tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Fraser Edmundston Golf Club. Organized in collaboration with the Blizzard of Edmundston, the September tournament will give participating teams the opportunity to be paired with a player or a member of the Maritime Junior Hockey League Champion team.

Since the inception of the tournament in 1995, $405,800 that has been collected and delivered to the St. Louis-Maillet Foundation. The objective of the tournament is to raise funds to provide financial assistance to students enrolled in Edmundston campus of the Université de Moncton (UMCE).
