MacLaren-Toussaint earns Principal’s Award
FORT KENT, Maine — Michelle MacLaren-Toussaint, a senior at Community High School, has been selected to receive the 2018 Principal’s Award, Principal John Kaleta announced recently.
She is the daughter of Chris and Rebecca Toussaint of Wallagrass.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Throughout her four years at CHS, Michelle has distinguished herself not only in the classroom but also as a leader in the school community and student government,” said Principal John Kaleta. “Michelle puts forth her very best effort in every aspect of her life.”
MacLaren-Toussaint is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Link Crew, Youth Voices, Natural Helpers and Track and Field.
“Michelle is a perfect example of an individual who puts her school before herself,” said Kaleta in making the award. “Michelle is such a well rounded individual and is very deserving of this accolade. She is a role model to every learner in this building.”
MacLaren-Toussaint, Kaleta and other award winners and their principals will attend an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor on Saturday, April 7, at 12:30 p.m.
The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association which represents Maine’s school administrators.
