Caribou man hospitalized after motorcycle strikes car

CARIBOU, Maine — A local man was hospitalized with head injuries Friday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a car on Route 1.

Michael Bouchard,, 66, of Caribou was heading north on his 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle at about 1:51 p.m. when Carol Mowers, 60, of Caribou made an abrupt turn into his path with a 2013 Chrysler 200, according to Police Chief Michael Gahagan.

Bouchard was transported to Cary Medical Center by Caribou Fire and Ambulance with unknown head injuries, Gahagan said in a press release.

The Harley Davidson was destroyed and the Chrysler 200 has extensive front end damage, the chief reported.

The accident is under investigation by Officer Keith Ouellette. No other information was available.
