CARIBOU, Maine — A Caribou Career and Technical Center teacher who was arrested in May on sex charges has been indicted by the Aroostook County grand jury.

Aroostook County District Attorney Todd Collins said that Colby Conroy, 22, of Woodland, was indicted on two counts of gross sexual assault, unlawful sexual touching, three counts of unlawful sexual contact and sexual abuse of a minor. The indictment was handed down on July 7.

Investigators arrested Conroy on May 26, the same day that school officials contacted the Caribou Police Department about the alleged crime.

Conroy is accused of having “had a sexual relationship with a juvenile student,” according to Police Chief Michael Gahagan. The chief did not say if the alleged victim had been a student of Conroy’s or attended classes at the technical center.
