MONTGOMERY, West Virginia- On Monday, the University of Maine at Fort Kent women's soccer team survived a scare from new United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) member West Virginia Tech and escaped their senior night with a 2-1 win. Liz Morneault scored the game winner on a header for 12-0 UMFK in the 77th minute. The Lady Bengals completed their road swing Tuesday at Ohio Midwestern at 11 a.m.
FORT KENT– On Sunday Sept. 30, the University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK) women’s soccer team defeated Daemen College of Amherst, NY 1-0 in a USCAA match for their second straight victory over the Wildcats in the weekend, and third overall this season.
FORT KENT– The University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK) women’s soccer team outlasted Daemen College of Amherst, New York 3-2 in a USCAA match-up on Saturday Sept. 29. UMFK (9-0-0) and Daemen (3-5-0) played their second close contest of the season.
ST. JOHN VALLEY- With both the Madawaska and Wisdom teams on break from this week until early October, the other two Valley teams had the stage to themselves this week, and they did not disappoint. Close games were had on all sides this week.
AROOSTOOK COUNTY- The Maine Winter Sports Center has announced its Ski Again Pass today, giving skiers unlimited skiing at all MWSC facilities for only $150 for the season. This unique season pass gives holders access to five downhill and Nordic areas across Maine, with no blackout dates.
FORT KENT - The classic Potato Barrel contest occurred on Wednesday, September 26, when the rivals campuses, University of Maine at Fort Kent and the University of Maine at Presque Isle, faced off in Fort Kent for an exciting soccer game.
FORT KENT - The U-Maine-Fort Kent men’s soccer team defeated U-Maine-Presque Isle 10-0 Wednesday afternoon in a USCAA match-up from Fort Kent, Maine. The contest was the 35thAnnual Potato Barrel match between the two Aroostook County schools who began the series in 1978. With the victory, UMFK has now claimed the last twelve Potato Barrels.
FORT KENT– Both Bengal soccer teams have improved their undefeated record to 6-0-0 after each defeating the University of Maine Machias Clippers during match-ups on Thursday, Sept. 20. The teams leave today for Vermont where they will face Vermont Technical College Knights over the weekend.
FRENCHVILLE - Frenchville native Shawn Martin and racer for Team 94 Racing made his hometown proud once again this year when he won the Oxford Networks Late Model championship at Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine on Sept. 1.
