Fort Kent scores wins over Madawaska Owls
FORT KENT/Madawaska - On Tuesday, Dec. 21, the Fort Kent Community High School Warrior girls JV and varsity teams faced off against the Madawaska Owls, both winning their match-ups.
At the JV halftime, the varsity girls took the court with the JV to warm-up.
Both teams had strategy in mind. Warrior senior Andrea Nadeau said, "We're going to keep playing our great defense and our offense will build from that."
Madawaska also had a plan. Coach Dean Gendreau said "We are going to play slowly and efficiently as possible. We are not going to 'run and gun.'"
In the end, the Warriors took the win with a final score of 54-21.
High shooters for the CHS team were Sam Carapellucci with 15 points, Chelsey Plourde with 9 points and Michela Desjardins with 7 points.
Madawaska's high scorers were Amanda Nadeau with 7 points and Kelly Dugal and Lindsey Lavoie with 6 points each.
Fort Kent's next home game will be on Dec. 27 with both boys and girls playing four games total.
