Fort Kent boys fall from early success versus Caribou
FORT KENT - It was a chilly night Wednesday as the Fort Kent Boys hosted Caribou, ultimately falling with the Vikings scoring four points to Fort Kent's single goal.
The game started with a nice attempt by Antonio Naranja. About 25 minutes into the action, Fort Kent's Phillipe Ouellette scored the first goal with an assist by Brandon Hartt.
Soon after, Caribou struck back with a goal by Chad Caverhill. Abe Desjardin made an attempt to have the Warriors step ahead again, but his kick went off the post. The effort appeared to energize the crowd, bringing the spectators to their feet.
The second half of the game included a shot by Caribou early on, but Jeremy Voisine of Fort Kent made the save.
Caribou later scored two more goals, one from Nick Whithead, with an assist by Dean Walker, and a goal from Shawn Barbosa with an assist from Walker.
The game went on with the Warriors fighting to regain the advantage. Just as the final buzzer rang, Caribou's Cody Hebert scored yet again with an assist from Dean Walker, leaving the final score at 1-4. Vice Principal Paul Michaud said, "We fought hard, it was an action-packed game. It was an important game for both teams ..."
