BELFAST / Fort Kent -  On Saturday, Nov. 1, Matthew Toussaint held off George Stevens Academy of Blue Hill sophomore John Hassett to win the individual Boys Maine State Class C Cross Country State Championship, completing the 3.1-mile course at the Troy Howard Middle School in 16 minutes, 28.79 seconds.

FORT KENT - The Fort Kent Community High School Lady Warriors soccer team shut out the Fort Fairfield Tigers 3 - 0 in soccer action on Friday, October 17 in Fort Kent with the help of Senior Erin Chasse who scored two goals and an assist to help the Warriors notch the win over Fort Fairfield Friday night.

PATTERSON, LOUISIANNA - Alison Prescott, a two-time high school Maine State title holder and the Maine Sunday Telegram-Portland Press Herald girls’ MVP in golf has settled in Patterson, La. to focus on golf full time. Prescott shot a 79 her freshmen year to win the state title and defended her crown the following year before health issues forced her to withdraw her junior year.

FORT KENT - On Friday March 21, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic Department held its annual Athletic Awards Night at the UMFK Sports Center. Highlighting the evening was selection of the male and female athletes of the year. In addition, the UMFK Women's Soccer Team was presented the National Championship Rings during the ceremony.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent inducted four new members into the UMFK Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony March 22 at the UMFK Sports Center. In addition, James Harvey was honored as the first recipient of the Floyd “Red” Powell Award. The new members inducted were men’s basketball stars Bruce Hanken and Jim McCloskey; men’s soccer standout, Donatas “Donny” Sumyla; and women’s volleyball and basketball player Amber Garrison.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Lady Bengals battled all the way back from 22 points down in the second half but fell short losing 67-65 to seven-seeded St. Joseph’s College in a consolation game on Thursday, March 6. The game was played as part of the 2014 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball National Championships in Uniontown, Penn. UMFK finishes the season at 12-9 reaching their second straight USCAA National Championship.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent will provide a free on-campus screening with doors opening at 10:50 a.m. on March 5 in the Nadeau Hall Teleconferencing room. Tourbeau Sports Group will record the live webcast of the UMFK Women’s basketball game at the 2014 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball National Championships in Uniontown, Pa. hosted by Penn State Fayette. The No. 6 seed UMFK will play their first game against No. 3 Robert Morris-Springfield at 11a.m. on Wednesday, March 5.

FORT KENT -  In a webcast announcement today, the University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team was selected to compete in the 2014 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships scheduled for 4-8 March, held in Uniontown, Pa.,and hosted by Penn State Fayette.

LYNN, MASS.- The Fisher College Men’s basketball team withstood a late University of Maine at Fort Kent rally to win a non-conference match-up 81-71 in Lynn, Mass. Tuesday evening. Fisher improves to 12-16 with the win while UMFK closes their season at 7-21.

NEWARK, N.J.- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Men's Basketball Team lost their second game this month against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, with a final score of 45-84. The game took place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Fleisher Athletic Center at NJIT.
