FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic department will offer a week-long, co-ed soccer and basketball camps this summer. Registration is open to children entering kindergarten up to eighth grade.

FORT KENT - On Friday March 21, the University of Maine at Fort Kent Athletic Department held its annual Athletic Awards Night at the UMFK Sports Center. Highlighting the evening was selection of the male and female athletes of the year. In addition, the UMFK Women's Soccer Team was presented the National Championship Rings during the ceremony.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent inducted four new members into the UMFK Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony March 22 at the UMFK Sports Center. In addition, James Harvey was honored as the first recipient of the Floyd “Red” Powell Award. The new members inducted were men’s basketball stars Bruce Hanken and Jim McCloskey; men’s soccer standout, Donatas “Donny” Sumyla; and women’s volleyball and basketball player Amber Garrison.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Lady Bengals battled all the way back from 22 points down in the second half but fell short losing 67-65 to seven-seeded St. Joseph’s College in a consolation game on Thursday, March 6. The game was played as part of the 2014 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball National Championships in Uniontown, Penn. UMFK finishes the season at 12-9 reaching their second straight USCAA National Championship.

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent will provide a free on-campus screening with doors opening at 10:50 a.m. on March 5 in the Nadeau Hall Teleconferencing room. Tourbeau Sports Group will record the live webcast of the UMFK Women’s basketball game at the 2014 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball National Championships in Uniontown, Pa. hosted by Penn State Fayette. The No. 6 seed UMFK will play their first game against No. 3 Robert Morris-Springfield at 11a.m. on Wednesday, March 5.

FORT KENT -  In a webcast announcement today, the University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team was selected to compete in the 2014 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships scheduled for 4-8 March, held in Uniontown, Pa.,and hosted by Penn State Fayette.

FORT KENT - The UMFK women's basketball team will find out at noon Tuesday, Feb. 25 if they have earned a trip to the 2014 U.S. Collegiate Athletic Assocation's Women's Basketball National Championships. The National Championship field will be revealed in a live webcast hosted by the USCAA on their website at theuscaa.com.

LYNN, MASS.- The Fisher College Men’s basketball team withstood a late University of Maine at Fort Kent rally to win a non-conference match-up 81-71 in Lynn, Mass. Tuesday evening. Fisher improves to 12-16 with the win while UMFK closes their season at 7-21.

NEWARK, N.J.- The University of Maine at Fort Kent Men's Basketball Team lost their second game this month against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, with a final score of 45-84. The game took place at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 at the Fleisher Athletic Center at NJIT.

Final regular season games

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent's women’s basketball team wraps up their home season with a game against Fisher College of Boston at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 at UMFK. The women will honor seniors Taylor Boucher of Fort Kent and Jenn Colpitts of Scarborough in a pre-game ceremony as they play the final home game of the season. Previously, Fisher defeated the Lady Bengals 73-60 outside Boston back on Nov. 24, 2013. For people unable to attend, the game will be carried live on Bengal Vision web cast.

Women’s basketball results

FORT KENT- The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team picked up a big home win over their County rival, the University of Maine at Presque Isle Owls. The final score was 71-63 in a top 20 USCAA match-up in an evening home game on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

All fans are encouraged to wear Bengal Gold or Green to the games. UMFK students who attend the contest will receive a free gold t-shirt while supplies last.

FORT KENT -The University of Maine at Fort Kent men’s basketball team shot a season high 60 percent (25-42), came from behind for the win and knocked down 33-34 free throw attempts in a 90-84 win over Virginia University Lynchburg on February 1 at the UMFK gym in Fort Kent.

RANDOLPH, Vermont - Tri-captains Jenn Colpitts (senior, Scarborough), Kayla Richards (sophomore, Presque Isle) and Samantha Carapelluci (sophomore Fort Kent) scored 12 points each to lead the University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team over Vermont Technical College 69-49 Saturday afternoon in a USCAA match-up from Randolph, Vermont.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.– The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team has moved up to number eight in the USCAA Coaches Poll Week 4 edition that the the national office in Newport News, Virginia released Friday evening.  The top eight teams in the final poll, which is February 21, will receive invitations to participate in the USCAA National Championships March 3 – 8 in Uniontown, Penn..
