FORT KENT - Men’s soccer junior midfielder Kevin Dionne (St-Andre D' Argenteuil, Quebec) was named University of Maine at Fort Kent’s Male Athlete of the Year and women’s soccer and basketball standout Jenn Colpitts (Jr., Scarborough, Maine) won her second straight Female Athlete of the Year at the annual UMFK Athletic Awards Night in a banquet at Nowland Hall.

FORT KENT – The University of Maine-Fort Kent Athletic Department has agreed to a three-year contract with Under Armour. The Baltimore, Maryland based company will outfit the UMFK Bengals in men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, as well as men’s and women’s basketball beginning in the fall of 2013.

UNIONTOWN, PA/ Fort Kent–USCAA Basketball National Championship authorities have named U-Maine-Fort Kent basketball players Yoshives Belizaire (Senior., Forward, Miramar, FL) and Jennifer Colpitts (Junior., Guard, Scarborough, Maine) 2013 USCAA Division 1 Honorable Mention All-Americans.  They announced the list this past week at the USCAA Basketball National Championships held at Penn State Fayette in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.

FORT KENT- The U-Maine Fort Kent women's basketball team has earned the program's first ever trip to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championships. UMFK, a USCAA Division 1 Independent, finished the regular season 16-11 and won eight of their last 11 games.

FORT KENT– The University of Maine at Fort Kent women’s basketball team used a strong second half Sunday afternoon to defeat State University of New York, Canton 65-57 in a top 20 USCAA D1 showdown from Fort Kent, Maine.

FORT KENT- The 2013 Bengal Basketball Cubs Winter Basketball Clinic is open to grades pre-K – 3 and will run on select Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the UMFK Sports Center. The dates will be Dec. 29, Jan. 12, 19, 26 and Feb. 2, 9 & 23. The clinic rates are $15 per session or $90 for all 7 sessions (savings of $15). The clinic staff will feature UMFK College men’s & women’s coaches and players.

FORT KENT- Claude Louis and Patrick Manifold each scored 26 points to lead University of Maine at Presque Isle over University of Maine at Fort Kent 71-63 from Fort Kent, Maine on Dec. 5.

UMFK drops to 0-9 and will next play Southern Virginia University at 6 p.m. Friday at the VUL Dragons Invitational in Lynchburg, Virginia. UMPI improved to 6-4 with the big road win.

FORT KENT- Sophomore Erika Christensen (Warren, Maine) scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high 27 rebounds to help lead the University of Maine at Fort Kent past the University of Maine at Presque Isle in a USCAA match-up from Fort Kent, Maine on the evening of Dec. 5.

UMFK improves to 6-4 on the year and will travel to play at Virginia Lynchburg Saturday and Sunday Dec. 8 and 9. UMPI drops to 0-6.

FORT KENT– U-Maine-Machias erased a 10 point half-time deficit to pick up their first win of the year in a 78-70 win at U-Maine-Fort Kent in a USCAA match-up from Fort Kent on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 20. 

UMM (1-4) outscored the host Bengals (0-6) 53-48 in the second half for the convincing road win.  Floyd Higgins led all scorers with 22 points and A.C Ford added 8 points and 10 assists for UMM.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA- The Women’s Division I Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 13 is Jennifer Colpitts (Scarborough, Maine).  The University of Maine at Fort Kent junior aided her team with a 3-0 win at the Edward Jones Tip Off Tournament hosted by NHTI with 51 points, 22 rebounds, six assists, fourteen steals and a 75% field goal percentage.

MASSACHUSETTS/ Fort Kent- Dean college cruised to a 81-53 win over the UMFK men's basketball team on Saturday, the afternoon of Nov. 9, in a non-league contest from Franklin, Mass.  UMFK falls to 0-2 and will play Sunday at 2 p.m.

NEW HAMPSHIRE/ Fort Kent- The UMFK women's basketball team defeated New Hampshire Tech 69-60 to win the New Hampshire Technical College Tap-Off Saturday, Nov. 9 in Concord, New Hampshire.  UMFK improves to 3-0 with the win and will next play at the Maine Maritime Tournament in Castine, Maine Friday November 16 vs.

ASHEVILLE, N.C./Fort Kent- The University of Maine at Fort Kent women's soccer team defeated Albany College of Pharmacy 7-1 Friday afternoon in the USCAA Women's Soccer National Semifinals in Asheville, North Carolina. The Lady Bengals (16-0) will play for their third straight USCAA National Championship tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. against No. 6 Daemen College.
