ST. JOHN VALLEY – Approximately 850 students from across the state competed at SkillsUSA in Bangor this past weekend and of them, 12 students from the Valley are continuing on to the next round in Kansas City, Missouri in June.
ST. JOHN VALLEY- This Saturday, March 9, two schools from the St. John Valley will compete in Caribou against three other County schools for the Class B regional round of the Maine Drama Festival. The school that wins will then move on to the state competitions.
FORT KENT - This past week was full of all kinds of excitement as high schools throughout the St. John Valley took part in this year’s Winter Carnival events. In Fort Kent, the students spent the week crowding into the gym after lunch to participate in competing against the other grades.

MADAWASKA - In a heartbreaking loss, the Madawaska Owl boys' soccer season ended Friday night in their Class C Semi-final match-up against the Houlton team.

FORT KENT - Thousands of people turned out for the UMFK Homecoming and Fort Kent Scarecrow Festival Parade on Saturday. FORT KENT - Memorial Day weekend, theatergoers will have a chance to see Fort Kent Community High School Shaman Theater perform Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” in the school’s gym.
MADAWASKA - Students and faculty surprised the seniors of Madawaska High School when a flash mob to Taio Cruz’s Dynamite broke out in the middle of a basketball game.
Friday, March 2, Tracy Deschaine brought everyone together, with just four minutes remaining on the clock in the second quarter of the seniors versus faculty game, and started dancing.
A friend inspired Deschaine to organize the flash mob.
MADAWASKA - It was a roller coaster week for both the Madawaska boys and girl's varsity soccer teams as each began last week by earning their way to the Class C Semi-finals and then suffered heartbreaking losses, snuffing out last hopes for a Madawaska team to advance to the Eastern Maine Championships.
MADAWASKA - It's been a big week for high school sports in the St. John Valley as varsity soccer teams from both Fort Kent and Madawaska advanced to the semi-finals after wins in the Class C quarter-finals.
