Traffic delays expected in Madawaska as Main Street paving project commences
12 July 2012
MADAWASKA– Paving will begin in Madawaska on US Route 1 Monday, July 16, beginning at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and extending west for approximately two miles, ending 260 feet short of the Frenchville town line.
Paving, curb installation, along with drainage and sidewalk improvements, will take place each weekday with the occasional Saturday. There will be no work from August 9th through the 15th due to town festivities.
There will be occasional, alternating one-way traffic with flaggers assisting motorists through the area. Traffic delays of up to five minutes can be expected.
Lane Construction Corporation is the contractor for this project and anticipates finishing all work by the middle of September.
