Owner Gary Theriault and his wife began their new business in December of 2011 as a sideline to his long-standing business of installing garage doors.

"We felt this was something that we really needed in the area," said Theriault. "It gives people a place where they can find things without travelling too far"

And right he is, with the only other nearest store to the Valley of its kind being in Caribou. Pawn shops provide a way for a customer to trade or sell items, or simply buy what the store has on hand.

Among the many items carried are jewelry, computers, musical instruments, car audio systems, bicycles, DVDs, CDs, tools and outdoor equipment. Just about anything imaginable is available at any given moment.

Hunting gear is a major part of the business, with over 75 guns in stock, in addition to knives and ammunition. Gotta Go Pawn is also the only music supply store in town, following the closing of Ezzy's Music Shop in May of 2011.

"There was something missing, nowhere for musicians to purchase equipment or supplies...we are going to provide that"

Theriault is also the pastor of Soteria Ministries, located just a few doors down from the pawn shop.

"With the kids in college, this is a great way for us to keep busy and help pay for things using our spare time," said Theriault. "The business has grown to six times the original inventory...and we hope to grow more."
