Fourteen SAD 27 students to sing at All Aroostook Choral Festival
FORT KENT -Officials have selected fourteen vocal students from Maine School Administrative District 27 to perform in the 2013 All Aroostook Choral Festival.
Representing Valley Rivers Middle School are altos Acelya Celik, Megan Jandreau, and Isabelle Gervais, sopranos Cady Hebert and Rachelle Arthur, and baritones Immanuel Pettengill and Colby LeClair.
Officials also chose seven vocalists from Fort Kent Community High School. Altos chosen are Makayla Martin, Michaela Martin, Emily Charette, and Damika Dumond and tenors Jared Michaud and Spencer Jandreau, along with bass Lance Jandreau.
All middle school vocalists are first time All Aroostook participants. The high school vocalists feature only one first-time All Aroostook vocalist Spencer Jandreau.
The All Aroostook Chorus Festival occurs Friday and Saturday, December 6 and 7, at Ashland Community School. The high school and middle school choruses feature musicians from all of Aroostook County. The festival will culminate in a concert Saturday, December 7 at 3 p.m..
In 2012 SAD 27 had one middle school vocalist Damika Dumond and seven high school vocalists perform in the All Aroostook festival concert: Trevor Dubois, Makayla Martin, Jared Michaud, Emily Charette, Lance Jandreau, Kaye Lozier, and Sophie Ouellette.
The MSAD 27 music programs are under the direction of Ed Boynton and Samantha Boutot.
