Icy roads and drifting snow causes two-vehicle collision

8 February 2013

FORT KENT – On Feb. 6, at approximately 6 p.m., an accident occurred at the intersection of the entrance to the 10th Mountain facility and Paradis Circle, causing approximately $1,000 worth of damage to one vehicle, said Fort Kent Police Chief Kenneth Michaud. Neither driver reported any injuries.

The driver of a 2013 Fort utility vehicle, a minor, was stopped at the intersection when Tammy Daigle, 43, of Fort Kent  failed to stop and collided with the rear-end of the minor's vehicle. Daigle's 2007 Ford utility vehicle suffered approximately $1,000 worth of damage.

Fort Kent Police Officer Richard Martin was the investigating officer; he determined that drifting snow caused slippery road conditions, which resulted in the accident.
