LEWISTON / Fort Kent - Nick Michaud, a member of the Men's Nordic Skiing team at Bates College, received New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Academic distinction for the winter 2015 season. Michaud, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Michaud of Fort Kent Mills, is a 2010 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School. He majors in sociology at Bates.

FORT KENT – The annual Equipment and Packer Fund Raffle held at Lonesome Pine Trails (LPT) in Fort Kent on Saturday, March 14 brought in $5,000 for the ski resort, and nobody was happier than LPT Mountain Manager Darold Bossie.

FORT KENT – Steve Pelletier, director of planning and economic development for the town of Fort Kent, has successfully petitioned the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry for grant monies to be utilized for the maintenance and restoration of town land. The two grants for which Pelletier applied on behalf of the town include the Project Canopy Assistance grant and the Recreational Trail grant.
