FORT KENT – The 23rd annual Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races came to a close on Tuesday, March 3, following five days of excitement and camaraderie which brought more than 1,000 spectators out to cheer on mushers and their teams of sled dogs from all across the country.

FORT KENT - The 23rd annual Can-Am Crown International Sled Dog Races saw Canadian mushers dominate the top spots in the Can-Am Crown 250 mile race during the early hours of Monday, March 2, when Martin Massicotte, a 46-year-old pavement contractor out of St.-Tite, QC and his team defended their title with a time of 25:17:32, rendering Massicotte a six-time Can-Am Crown victor. The edition, which is similar to the informative flier that launched the young company five years ago, is free.

AROOSTOOK COUNTY - When the Washburn Lady Beavers headed to the State Class D Basketball Championship Game a year ago, a special treat was created in their honor to help recognize their accomplishments and wish them well: the Washburn Whoopie Pie, made especially by the food service team at TAMC, had a blueberry cake shell and creamy yellow lemon filling to match the team’s blue and yellow colors.
