EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick - (Update: Organizer Alain Sirois confirmed on Monday morning, February 8, that 46 participating venues at ski hills across Canada completed 9,886 visible snow angels on Saturday. It was not enough to beat the current record of 15,851, he said.)

One hundred and sixty-six people at Mont Farlagne Outdoor Center took part in a nationwide attempt Saturday, February 6, to beat the Guinness World Record of the most snow angels at one time.

SINCLAIR, Maine - The Long Lake Ice Fishing Derby, which took place January 30 and 31, brought in 893 registrations this year, raising about $18,000 in registration fees that will benefit the Edgar J. Paradis Cancer Fund.

Derby committee member and St. Agatha Town Manager Gary Picard said the committee will meet in two to three weeks, once bills and expenses have been paid, and look at the net proceeds to decide how much they will give to the cancer fund.
