Dr. Lavoie successfully defends doctoral dissertation

The University of Maine at Fort Kent Assistant Professor of Behavioral Science Lisa Lavoie, PhD, MAIS, LCPC-C, CADC, MHRT-C, CRC, has successfully defended her PhD dissertation entitled “Exploring the Experience of Supervisee Shame in Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselors: A Phenomenological Study” on August 28.

UMFK hosts Pediatric Health Fair

On December 1 the University of Maine at Fort Kent nursing department hosted a Pediatric Health Fair at the UMFK Sports Center. Over 450 children from surrounding communities, kindergarten to grade 6, attended the event which showcased 36 booths of varying health and wellness topics appropriate for children.

UMFK to host film screening on Northern Maine Borderlands

The Archives acadiennes/Acadian Archives will sponsor a screening of “La Frontière”, a documentary film on the border regions of Maine, at the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in Nadeau Hall conference room. The event is free and open to the public.
