Fort Kent to host free Summer Movies at Riverside Park

FORT KENT, Maine — The public is invited to attend a series of free evenings of family friendly entertainment during a weekly series of Summer Movies at Riverside Park in Fort Kent. 

Five weeks of movie entertainment will take place every Tuesday evening from July 9 through Aug. 6.

All movies will be shown at dusk at the Riverside Park Pavilion, rain or shine, and admission is free. 

There will be games and a bouncy house for children to enjoy prior to each movie.

Popcorn and cotton candy will be for sale.

The schedule of movies, all of which are rated PG, will be as follows:

July 9: “A Dog’s Way Home.” Bring a picture of your dog to be entered into a drawing for a basket of dog toys.

July 16: “Spiderman.” The Newer Verse. Moviegoers are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite superhero. Masks will be provided.

July 23: “Hotel Transylvania 3.” The theme of this movie event will be summer vacation at the beach.

July 30: “The Grinch.” This Christmas in July event will include a special guest. 

Aug. 6: “Back to the Future 3.” Guests are welcome to dress in any historic attire. 

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and bug spray to all of the movies.

Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 

The Summer Movies at Riverside Park initiative is a collaboration between the Town of Fort Kent, the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Maine School Administrative District 27, Northern Maine Medical Center and Fish River Rural Health.
