Fort Kent 150th anniversary celebration to include Miss Fort Kent Pageant

FORT KENT, Maine — The latest addition to the Fort Kent Sesquicentennial celebration to be held in August is a Miss Fort Kent Pageant open to contestants from kindergarten to grade 12. The pageant will crown winners in the categories of Little Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Fort Kent.

The Little Miss category is open to contestants from kindergarten to grade three. The Junior Miss category is for contestants from grades six to eight. Teen Miss contestants will be in grades nine and 10, and the Miss Fort Kent competition is open to those in grades 11 and 12.

The contestants will participate in fashion wear, evening wear and talent competitions.

Pageant applications are available at the service desk at Paradis Shop ‘n Save in Fort Kent.

The deadline to register for the pageant is Friday, July 5, and the registration fee is $50.

The Miss Fort Kent Pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at the University of Maine at Fort Kent Fox Auditorium.
