ASHLAND, Maine — The Maine Forest Service will host a stream-smart road crossing field training workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, June 6 and 7, at its northern region headquarters in Ashland.

The two-day session is a hands-on introduction to stream survey techniques and concepts associated with developing ecologically sound road/stream crossings. Day one will include field training on what information to collect and how to collect it. On day two, participants will analyze the data to develop preliminary designs in the classroom.

Workshop attendees may be eligible for forestry continuing education credits (CEUs), DEP voluntary contractor certification CEUs, and engineering CEU’s.
