Fort Kent rec to hold swimming lesson registration night

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Recreation and Parks Department will hold a swimming lesson registration event on Tuesday, June 4, at the Fort Kent Municipal Building.

Registration will be held 6-7 p.m. for Fort Kent residents; 7-7:30 p.m. for non residents.

Registrations must be completed in person and will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

If any spots remain after the June 4 event, open registration will be available to residents and non-residents after Wednesday, June 5, until classes are full.

Swimming lessons are offered for Levels 1 through 6B with Level 6A Lifeguard Readiness and 6B Personal Water Safety and Fitness Swimmer and Fundamentals of Diving. There is also a parent and child class for children ages 3 and younger.  

The registration fee for swimming lessons only is $25 for Fort Kent residents and $35 for non-residents.

This year swimming lessons will take place for five weeks with a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule and a Tuesday and Thursday schedule. The classes will begin on July 1 and end Aug. 2.
