Maine State Police Troop F Report — April 29-May 5, 2019

HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 115 calls for service during the period of April 29-May 5, including the following.

Monday, April 29

MAPLETON —  Trooper Pescitelli was patrolling in Mapleton and made a traffic stop.  The male operator was found to be under suspension for failing to pay fines.  Tr. Pescitelli summonsed him for OAS.

EAGLE LAKE — Tr. Curtin was called to a vandalism complaint in Eagle Lake.  The owner of the storage units reported damage to one of the unit doors. Several juveniles were seen in the area and one was known to the property owner.  Tr. Curtin spoke to one of the juvenile suspects and he denied any involvement. The case remains under investigation.

Tuesday, April 30

PRESQUE ISLE — Trooper Levesque responded to an address in Presque Isle to assist the Presque Isle Police Department with an incident. Officers reported a man was in a stairwell and was trying to break into a residence.  Tr. Levesque and a deputy from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department responded to the address. When Tr. Levesque and the deputy arrived they confronted the man and he became uncooperative and belligerent. They arrested him and took him to PIPD.  The man was combative, so officers contacted the Border Patrol, who agreed to transport the man to the Aroostook County Jail in their prisoner transport vehicle.

FORT KENT — Tr. Martin attempted to stop a vehicle in Fort Kent for a traffic infraction.  The vehicle fled and the officer lost sight due to dust. Through an investigation, he was able to determine the driver and located the vehicle.  The man received a criminal summons for eluding a police officer and for an expired registration (criminal).

EAGLE LAKE — Tr. Curtin was called to assist PIPD in locating the suspect in a domestic violence incident that occurred in Presque Isle.  He checked several locations in Eagle Lake and the surrounding area and eventually located the male. He arrested the man and transported him to the PIPD.

Thursday, May 2

FRENCHVILLE —  Tr. Martin stopped a vehicle in Frenchville for a traffic infraction.  During the stop, Tr. Martin discovered the operator’s Maine driver’s license had expired in 2017.  He issued the woman a criminal summons for the violation and helped her make arrangements for a licensed driver to come get her and her vehicle.

Saturday, May 4

PRESQUE ISLE — Tr. Pescitelli was patrolling Rt. 10 and made a traffic stop.  He found that the female operator was operating under suspension and summonsed her for the violation.

Sunday, May 5

NEW LIMERICK — Tr. Bell was parked in New Limerick when he observed a vehicle pass him.  He knew the operator and suspected that he was under suspension. The officer asked dispatch to run the registration and found that the operator was under suspension and had an active arrest warrant.  He stopped the vehicle and arrested the male on the warrant and summonsed him for OAS.
