Fort Kent home a total loss following Wednesday morning fire

FORT KENT, Maine — Fire destroyed a home here Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from the Fort Kent, Frenchville and North Lakes departments responded to battle the blaze in the 600 block of South Perley Brook Road after a passerby called to report the fire at about 7:40 a.m.

Residents of the home were out of town, according to Fort Kent Police Chief Tom Pelletier.

Firefighters were still at the scene midmorning.

No injuries were reported.
