Three departments battling Allagash house fire

ALLAGASH, Maine — Firefighters from three area departments are at the scene of a house fire at 767 Allagash Road in Allagash. Residents of the home made it out safely.

Members of the Allagash Fire Department, St. Francis Fire Department, and Fort Kent Fire Department are all battling the fire which broke out sometime early Friday morning. The Allagash Fire Department requested mutual aid from the Fort Kent Fire Department at 6:53 a.m.

The home is owned by Sterling and Jane Jackson. One of the Jackson’s grandchildren also was staying at the home at the time of the fire. All three managed to escape the fire and make it to safety.
