Madawaska students to serve spaghetti for project graduation fundraiser
MADAWASKA, Maine — Student members of the Madawaska High School project graduation will host a spaghetti dinner 5-7 p.m. March 2 at the American Legion Post 147.
The money raised will fund a trip to Quebec for graduation that the 30 participating students agreed on earlier in the school year.
The spaghetti dinner is one of many fundraisers the students put on during the year to help pay for excursions to Bora Bora Water Parc, Mega Parc at Galeries de la Capitale, and iSaute Trampoline Park, as well as for a tour of old Quebec, restaurants, the hotel, the bus and driver, according to Peggy Chasse Ruest, a parent of one of the seniors and the co-president of project graduation.
The money raised also will be used to buy gift cards for the students, cash prizes to be given out during the Québec trip.
“Our goal of total fundraising is $10,000,” Ruest said. “For the spaghetti feed, we made 300 tickets and we hope we sell them all. This would give us $2,400.”
Students also will be selling baked goods and tickets for a 50/50 raffle at the dinner. Parents and members of the Dames de St. Anne and Daughters of Isabella.donated food for the spaghetti dinner.
Tickets for the dinner are $8 apiece and are available at the door or through a participating senior. Food will be available for Twin Rivers as well, and will be delivered at 5 p.m.
