Warrior pins help seal wrestling win in Fort Kent
FORT KENT, Maine — An abundance of powerful pins helped propel the Fort Kent Community High School Warrior Wrestling team to a 54-12 win over the Caribou Vikings on Wednesday, Jan. 2, in Fort Kent.
Warriors Jaren Hartt, Reece Pelletier, Ian DuBois, and Manny Pettengill pinned their Viking opponents during Fort Kent’s only home wrestling match of the season.
Hartt, weighing in at 106 pounds, pinned his opponent in 3 minutes and 18 seconds.
In the 152-pound division, Pelletier took out his competition in 2 minutes and 19 seconds
Dubois, competing in the 170-pound class, secured his opponent to the mat in 1 minute and 19 seconds.
Pettengill, dominated the 285-pound class by taking down his opponent in just 39 seconds.
At 120 pounds, Fort Kent’s Lance Daigle won his match by a score of 15 to 12, while his teammate C.J. Rocheleau, 160 pounds, defeated his Viking opponent by a score of 9 to 3.
Fort Kent also collected three wins by forfeit for Warriors Evan Gagnon, 126 pounds; Lucas Theriault, 182 pounds; and Jordan Labbe, 195 pounds.
Scott Dubois is head coach of the Fort Kent Warriors and James “Chico” Hernandez heads up the Vikings.
