SJV Weather for December 26, 2018 – January 1, 2019

High pressure will build across the SJV through Thursday then move east of the region. A low pressure system will track from the Great Lakes north of the region bringing a chance for snowfall Friday that transitions to a wintry mix Friday night into early Saturday. A cold front moves through early Saturday with another Arctic air mass building in behind. Arctic air remains in place through Monday. A low pressure system bring milder temperatures and a chance for some snow New Year’s Day.

Partly cloudy/sunny. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph with wind chill values 0 to 5 below. Tonight, partly cloudy with northwest winds near 10 mph with wind chill values near 15 below.

Thursday, December 27: High: 8 to 9 above. Low: near 0.
Partly cloudy and cold. Northwest winds around 10 mph with gusts to 25 mph. Wind chill values around 15 below. Thursday night, partly cloudy and cold. South/southeast winds near calm. Chance for precipitation is 30 percent after midnight.

Friday, December 28: High: upper 20s. Low: mid-20s.
Cloudy with a 90 percent chance for snow with 3-4 inches possible. Southeast winds near 10 mph. Wind chill values as cold as -5. Friday night, precipitation transitions to a wintry mix with temperatures climbing overnight. Chance for precipitation 60 percent. South winds 0 to 7 mph.

Saturday, December 29: High: mid-30s. Low: 5 to 10 below.
A 30 percent chance for a wintry mix ending early. Decreasing clouds and falling temperatures through the day. Northwest winds 8 to 14 mph. Saturday night, partly cloudy and quite cold. Northwest winds 0 to 7 mph.

Sunday, December 30: High: near 10 above. Low: 5 to 10 below.
Partly cloudy and cold with west winds to 7 mph. Sunday night, partly cloudy and cold with west winds 0 to 7 mph.

Monday, December 31: High: mid-10s. Low: near 0.
Mostly cloudy with a 10 percent chance for precipitation. Southwest winds 0 to 7 mph. Monday night, mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance for snow showers. South winds 0 to 7 mph.

Tuesday, January 1: High: lower 20s. Low: upper 10s to 20.
Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for snow showers with 1-3 inches possible. South winds to 7 mph. Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for snow shower. South/southwest winds to 7 mph.
