Edmundston police arrest two Romanian women for shoplifting
EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — Law enforcement officers from the Edmundston Police Force arrested two women for shoplifting at an Edmundston grocery store Wednesday morning, Nov. 7.
Edmundston Police Force Director Alain Lang said via a press release Wednesday that officers identified the 24- and 21-year-old women as Romanian citizens, “without a fixed address.” Police said the women were suspects involved in several other theft cases at different stores, including pharmacies in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Police released the women and officers of the Canadian Border Services Agency took them into custody. The women will face charges of theft under $5,000 in Edmundston, according to the press release.
Lang indicated the women’s court date will be at the discretion of Border Services.
