Edmundston police arrest 29-year-old following search warrant

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — Members of the Edmundston Police Force, Patrol and Street Crime Section, made an arrest on Friday, Oct. 4, following a search warrant in Edmundston.

Officers executed a search warrant Oct. 4 at a dwelling in the Saint-Jacques sector and arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with this search, according to a press release issued by Chief Alain Lang, director, Edmundston Police Force.

During the search, the police seized a considerable amount of marijuana, cocaine and cannabis products, in addition to a large sum of money. Police officers also seized paraphernalia for the sale and use of drugs.

The 29-year-old has been released on condition and is scheduled to appear before a provincial court judge in Edmundston on December 18, 2018 to face charges of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking. The press release states his name cannot be unveiled since he has not been formally charged.
