Armand J. Picard

MADAWASKA, Maine – Armand J. Picard, 92, passed away on September 26, 2018, at a Madawaska health care facility. He was born on February 7, 1926, son of the late Alcime and Rose (Michaud) Picard.
Armand was a hard worker who excepted life on life’s terms. He always had an infectious smile and dedicated himself to always doing the right thing for his family and friends. During his lifetime, he was grateful for 45 plus years of continuous recovery from alcoholism. He also worked for Fraser Paper Inc. for 44 and a half years and was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus council in Madawaska. He was a loving Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather who was very proud of his family.
He is survived by his six children, Ginny Gaffney and her husband, Gil Ruppel of Maryland, Nicole Seymour of Connecticut, Roland Picard and his wife, Diane of Madawaska, Lorraine Marston and her husband, Dick of St. Agatha, Real Picard of Madawaska, and Lionel Picard and his wife, Judy of Massachusetts; six grandchildren, Travis and Heather Seymour, and Gary, Tina, Thomas, and Kevin Picard; two great-grandchildren, Nora and Lyla Seymour, along with many nieces and nephews. Armand was predeceased by his three siblings, Theoline (Toni) Caron, Donat Picard, and Cecile Marquis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the St. Thomas Church in Madawaska. Family and friends may call at the Church from 9-9:45 a.m. before the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Lajoie Funeral Home in Madawaska.
