Crosswinds residents enjoy autumn ATV rides and picnic
FORT KENT, Maine — Fifteen residents of Crosswinds Residential Care in Fort Kent enjoyed an autumn outing including ATV rides and an outdoor picnic on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
Bert Levesque of the Valley ATV Riders coordinated the ATV rides and club members transported the residents to a camp belonging to Gene’s Electronics co-owners Darnell and Stephanie Oliver.
The Olivers greeted the group of residents and volunteers with hot coffee at their camp on a mountain overlooking the St. John River. The residents socialized around an outdoor fire and enjoyed hot dogs and homemade french fries which the Olivers prepared.
“Everyone just loved it. The view is spectacular up on the mountain,” said Crosswinds Assistant Activities Coordinator Patti Voisine. “We are blessed to have so many good people in our lives.”
