Stacy in concert at Fort Kent church

FORT KENT, Maine — Christian recording Artist and “American Idol” finalist Phil Stacey will perform in Fort Kent at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

The performance will take place at the Fort Kent Assembly of God Church.  Admission is free.

Stacey has been a featured artist on tours with Michael W. Smith and Natalie Grant.  Upon his college graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and also traveled as the lead vocalist of the Navy Rock Band Pride.

His biggest breakthrough came in 2006 when he attended an open audition for the sixth season of “American Idol.”  He was a cast member on the show for several months before being eliminated.

During the “American Idol” live tour, Stacey and his manager, Chaz Corzine, drew the attention of  Disney’s Country Record Label, Lyric Street Records, and as soon as the tour was over, they signed him and began working on a record with award-winning Producer, Wayne Kirkpatrick.

By spring of 2008, his album was finished, released, and debuted at number 8 on Billboard’s country album chart.
