Odette Berube (1934—2018)

EAGLE LAKE, Maine — Odette Berube, 83, died on August 10, 2018, at a Fort Kent health care facility. Odette was born on October 26, 1934, a son of the late Alfred and Sophie (Sirois) Berube. Odette was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his whole career working in the woods operating a cable skidder. Even when he wasn’t working, you could always find him back in the woods doing what he loved.

Odette is survived by his loving wife, Joan Berube, of 59 years; two children, Mark Berube and his companion, Diane Charette, of Long Lake, Lisa Devoe and her husband, Vaughn, of Eagle Lake; three grandchildren, Cara Pinette and her husband, Keith, of Fort Kent, Brad Berube and his wife, Brandy, of Hamden, Kaitlynn Devoe of Eagle Lake; and five great-grandchildren. Odette was predeceased by his six siblings, Lester, Hampy, Ronald, Freda, Jean, and Claudette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2018, at the St. Mary’s Church in Eagle Lake. Interment with military honors will be held in the Parish Cemetery immediately following the service. Family and friends may call at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, and from 9-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018, before the service.
