Yvonne Marie Rice (1947—2018)

FORT KENT, Maine — As dawn arrived on Saturday, July 21, 2018, Yvonne Marie Rice left behind her earthly body in Fort Kent, Maine. She was 71 years young. She leaves her roommate friend, Marie Schnetzka, and four pet companions to dearly miss her. She was born on July 12, 1947, in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, to Elizabeth Demko Rice and Felix Rice, along with two sisters who survived her. She also leaves nieces and nephews and their children, most in Pennsylvania.

During her working years she filled different positions, finally spending 16 years with Crown Cork and Seal as a Quality Control Specialist while living in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. In leisure, she enjoyed camping hunting and fishing in different parts of the country, but mostly in Pennsylvania and southern Maine, where she enjoyed ice fishing on Sebago Lake and Togue fishing off of Cousins Island Bridge.

Retired in Upstate Maine, she spent her time supporting the recreation department children’s programs and wood carving in Baker Brook with her dear friends Luc and Paula.

Celebrations of her life are planned for August in Fort Kent and October in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers she had some favorite charities that will be on her obituary page at where condolences may be expressed also to her family.
