Fort Kent man suffers minor injuries in dump truck rollover
SINCLAIR, Maine — A Fort Kent man suffered minor injuries Thursday afternoon when the dump truck he was driving blew a tire and rolled over on the Caribou Road.
Charles Perreault, 73, was heading north on the roadway when the right front tire on the 2001 Sterling dump truck blew out at about 12:30 p.m., according to a press release issued by Maine State Police Sgt. Jeff Clark.
Perreault was carrying a load of asphalt at the time and the blowout caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
The truck went off the road and into a ditch before rolling over and landing on its roof, Clark reported.
Members of Ambulance Service Inc.checked out Perreault’s injuries at the scene and cleared him, according to the sergeant.
Perreault was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The dump truck is owned by Desjardin’s Logging Inc. of Wallagrass.
Trooper Nathan Desrosier investigated the crash. Members of the Department of Environmental Protection also responded to the scene.
