Annual golf scramble to benefit Pink Aroostook

CARIBOU, Maine — Cary Medical Center’s Pink Aroostook will host the 6th annual Pink Aroostook Scramble at the Caribou Country Club on Saturday, July 28, at 9 a.m. with a rain date of Sunday, July 29.

All proceeds from the event go directly to Pink Aroostook, a breast health program designed for support, advocacy, education and awareness of breast health issues in Aroostook County. Funds raised at this event will provide additional countywide financial support for breast cancer survivors and advocacy initiatives.

To participate in the golfing event, teams of four must register by Thursday, July 19, by calling the Caribou Country Club at (207) 493-3933. The team registration fee is $100.

For the third year, teams may also participate in the Pink Aroostook Scramble Golf Cart Decorating Contest at the event. Photos of the decorated carts will be shared on Pink Aroostook’s Facebook page (facebook.com/pinkaroostook) on the day of the event, and the cart that receives the most photo likes will be crowned the decorating contest winner.

Businesses and individuals may financially support the Pink Aroostook Scramble by sponsoring a hole sponsor as a memorial tribute to a loved one, or in honor of someone who is currently living with cancer.  A $100 donation will sponsor a hole, and the sponsor will receive a sponsorship sign at the event.

Those interested can also purchase memorial/tribute signs for $50.  These will be displayed in the clubhouse during the event and will include a message of the sponsor’s choice.

For sponsorship information, contact Bethany Zell at (207) 498-1361 or bzell@carymed.org by Thursday, July 19.
